Mar 7: Hotsos - Day 1.75

Or is it Day 8? or 3? or 42?

I know this whole jetlag saga is getting tedious, but I have clear evidence it's true. I just made it up to my room from the party, hoping to take a last look at the presentation or sleep. Either would be good. I think I must have been in my room 15 minutes before I noticed this, despite the fact I must have walked right past it to get in the room.

A lovely leather holdall with a Hotsos Symposium 2006 logo and a monogrammed tag. A better-than-average speaker gift from a better-than-average conference.

Here's another shot. Either I'm very excited about the bag, or in-room photos are just coming out better than the conference photos ;-)

The Party was great - good food, pleasant sounds from the live band and I got to meet some really cool people. I won't even begin to list them because there were quite a few but I, for one, would like to come back next year and see Eric present. I just have a feeling he'd be really good.

Moans Nogood did a funny 10-minute piece that only he could do. Anyone else would get slaughtered for sexism in America, I think, but I suppose they just put it down to him being a mad Dane. Oh, and I know kilts are expensive, but he's certainly getting his money's worth ;-)

I would have loved to stay longer if I wasn't dog-tired and still two presentations ahead of me. I'm looking forward to pushing the boat out a bit on Wednesday night!

Hotsos 2010 - What's THAT?
I heard someone bemoaning the lack of Swag at Hotsos - just an event program, couple of magazines and a small clockwork toy sponsored by Oracle. I don't think I ever come to the Symposium expecting Swag - it's just not that kind of event. But you do tend

On reflection, maybe sexism is the wrong word, but Mogen's speech was certainly risque. I suppose it was after 9 ;-)

"a bag of cigarettes ? ;-)"

Of course not! It's for my kit when I go to the gym ;-)
