Rest assured, for all the recent and ongoing acquisitions, that legacy product, the Oracle database, is still alive and kicking at Oracle Corporation.

One comment -- no reason to feel insecure about self-taught credentials. As fast as our industry moves, we're all self-taught to some degree.

Besides, I'll always take a well-read person without a degree over a degreed person who only read what was mandated. From what I see in your writing style I'm pretty sure which category you fall into.

Yeah, I wasn't 100% sure about doing it but Chris' questions were really interesting.

Good point - I'd never really thought of it that way before. To be honest, it's not that big a deal any more, but I do wish I'd had a little more time in full-time education.

Yeah, but the emphasis was on the word 'try'. As I recall, my last attempt led to quite a few of my colleagues being woken up earlier than expected ;-)

It will take a while to overcome the fear and the phobia, but in time, the spiders will eventually learn not to be terrified of people from the north :-)
