May 9: Stay Calm, Ladies ...

... and possibly gentlemen.

I'm a little surprised that Thomas Presslie made the cardinal error of posting photos of the speakers at the MSDBF that will kick-off in three weeks time. I can only assume that he's prepared for the rush of Oracle groupies, clamouring to register for the remaining places. Perhaps not.

As usual, Alex G has wheeled out the one and only cool photo of himself but I was stunned to realise that there are actually *two* sexy photos of Moans Longballs Nogood in existence (then again, he has had more than 42 years to perfect his strong, masculine gaze) and that Frits Hoogland's nose isn't always bashed in! Me? That ACE one amazes my other half every time she sees it, because I'm actually smiling! (Thanks to Mr. Hyslop - that should cover the next 10 years.)

Joking aside, this is the last time I'll mention this conference, but it's an opportunity not to be missed. Technical content (yes, lest I forget, there is a very decent agenda), hospitality, fun and the opportunity to see more Englishmen attempt to play the pipes!

See you there!

Personally, I believe that this collection of photographs should be forwarded to any email harvesters who collect addresses of web pages. Especially, if they work for firms clearly named after somerset villages.

Niall

p.s. of course it's an in-joke, what do you expect.

LOL. In an inward-looking manner ;-)

Still, if more people could see what these chaps look like, the job offers might be thinner on the ground!

Not watching the football this evening, Niall? ;-)

Where did you ever get a somewhat serious picture of Anjo? And Alex in a beard? An interesting lot you are going to have plus having one of the sponsors be a whiskey manufacturer sounds more like a party to me! Enjoy yourselves!

Dammit, I knew I'd forgotten something! Three days ago, when I first saw this, it was the first thing I noticed. I seem to have blanked it from my memory though ;-)

That's because you can't see his Oracle Technology!

no need to watch the football, it's just a regional contest. The real action will be in athens :-)

I also felt like the advert "I can't believe it's Anjo".

Carol, that's right - the beard is gone (at some point Olga gave me and ultimatum on something unless I stop gardening on my face).

Doug, what happened with the first photo? I would expect nothing but Flatcat there!

I'm sick of those guys getting all the credit!

I may be wrong but, judging from the characteristic poor quality blurred image, #1 is a self portrait performed using a sophisticated timing device (place camera, run, smile, doh!) from Doug.

Not speaking unfortunately, but there are, of course, female participants - they're essential for the Scottish Country Dancing at the Ceilidh!

Dave will also be hosting an exclusive competition Ask Ensor inviting registered participants to ask him a question he can answer and the prize winner will be announced at the Gala Dinner.

Guess the language faculties are the first to go :-)

He set up a crack unit while at Oracle UK

Oh, that explains it, then. :-)

No need to pick conservative earings for your visit - nothing could shock people over here! I think people would be more shocked that Doug had a couple of half-pints instead of pints in the pub on Friday :-)

Disclaimer

For the avoidance of any doubt, all views expressed here are my own and not those of past or current employers, clients, friends, Oracle Corporation, my Mum or, indeed, Flatcat. If you want to sue someone, I suggest you pick on Tigger, but I hope you have a good lawyer. Frankly, I doubt any of the former agree with my views or would want to be associated with them in any way.
