After the presentation, I was answering follow-up questions for 30 minutes. Alex G was too polite to desert me, so he was late for his lunch too. Cheers, mate
(Particularly as it was fajitas - a firm Gorbachev favourite - and with guacamole this time!)
Definitely a good morning and the worrying is over for another conference ![]()
Now I'm in the final event of the week, the afternoon training session - "Diagnosing and Avoiding RAC Performance Problems" - which I definitely don't want to miss, but I'll catch up on more later.

I enjoyed the presentation.
Thanks, Marco. Strangely, I could see your serious face at the front the whole presentation and thought you might not like it. Shows how much I know!

ARGGH! I *really* have to stop doing that 'making a funny face' thing when my photo is taken. It seems funny at the time but makes me look like a complete idiot ![]()
I like your new blog, btw, and enjoyed the training today ...

I didn't do much with parallelism since 8.1.7, so I am a little bit rusty on the subject. I was really doing an effort to put it into context (without having a good context)
. That's probably why I was looking so serious. Currently XMLDB can't be used with parallelism, maybe in a 12 version or so. They are looking into it, according to the product manager; mentioned on the XMLDB OTN Forum.
I hope we meet again and have a drink or two. ![]()

Certainly. Once I've caught up on one remaining question from the presentation and a ton of personal stuff, that would be good ![]()
