Nov 21: Our New Additions

A special gift deserves a special blog

Here is the present Alex Gorbachev gave me at UKOUG

Normally it takes a while to name new arrivals while we suss out their personality and see what name suits but, in this case, we decided he should be named Alex, to remind us of how he came to us. But that's not all.

This guy looked to us like a Peter, then we realised he's probably a French Canadian bear called Pierre. He didn't say much at first you see, apart from the odd word of French. Turns out his English is pretty good too and he claims to know more about computers than The Dog! (That hasn't gone down well at all and we'll need to keep an eye on them, but he seems like a very nice bear. The best bit is, he seems to have a moose up his bum

Yes, it's two housemates in one! What a marvelous addition. However, when I discussed my original idea to wait until the rest of the Housemates were asleep and switch Pierre/Alex round (to keep the boys confused for a week or two) with Jonathan Lewis, he gave me a very concerned look ;-) Well, *I* thought it was funny.

They'll be treated very well, but Pierre had better stop telling The Dog he knows more about computers than he does ;-)

Actually, it was because he looked like a very nice bear. Alex, the crazy moose might fit in better with the rest of them, but there's something solid, decent and dependable about Pierre.

Are you sure there's not a Jekyll and Hyde thing going on there? If I was the others I'd be watching my back at night!

Isn't this a world first "bear gives birth to a moose"

You should have them stuffed for scientific reasons

For the avoidance of any doubt, all views expressed here are my own and not those of past or current employers, clients, friends, Oracle Corporation, my Mum or, indeed, Flatcat. If you want to sue someone, I suggest you pick on Tigger, but I hope you have a good lawyer. Frankly, I doubt any of the former agree with my views or would want to be associated with them in any way.
