Sep 30: Miracle DBF - Day 2.79

What a marvellous night. As usual I was rushing around a little but made it back to the centre just in time for the Margaritas. Then we had dinner which was very much to my taste (meat and potatoes, basically) but the lobster for starter wasn't my kind of thing. But my dinner partners appreciated it. Should you ever want to learn how to strip a lobster empty, Graham Wood is that man. He was the only one to spot that my claw was untouched, so it was his.

After dinner and before MABBAM (the Miracle Abba Musical), Mogens invited Bill Thater up to say a few words on his first ever trip to Europe which was touching. Next up were the 3 track leaders up for congratulations for their efforts. The scoop photograph that I missed was Graham Wood relieving Mogens of his pint and drinking it down in one go!

The musical was surprisingly good as was Thomas Presslie's piping (as usual). What was even more fun were Jonathan Lewis' efforts. I noticed his ears prick up when he heard the pipes and I just knew he was going to have a try. Not bad, I would say, but all of that stuff's been covered pretty well by this chap

I know it's a dreadful photo, but it's my contribution to the notion of a parallel blogging universe ;-) (You need to read this blog before that'll make sense. The two pictures were taken at the same time)

While we're on the subject of that blog, I think it proves you should be very careful who you take compromising photos of if you don't want to experience retaliation ;-)

Yes, Tom, excellent disguise! I'm sure it's my face I'd want to hide too with a Charles Atlas physique like that ;-)

However, it was a bit of a sad end to the night to find that, contrary to expectations, Derek Junior is frightened of water.

After the pool (which I enjoyed more than I expected), there were several beers. In fact, the reason I was sleeping on the couch was that I thought it would be a little unfair for a drunken Scotsman to collapse into the room I'm sharing with Cary after his long flight.

You know, there's so much I could write and it's been some event, but I need to move on to catch the final panel session.

For the avoidance of any doubt, all views expressed here are my own and not those of past or current employers, clients, friends, Oracle Corporation, my Mum or, indeed, Flatcat. If you want to sue someone, I suggest you pick on Tigger, but I hope you have a good lawyer. Frankly, I doubt any of the former agree with my views or would want to be associated with them in any way.
